The Black Swamp
Sculpture creates a crossroads in a campus pedestrian mall at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. Sculpture subject: the natural history of northwestern Ohio. This area was once a dense swamp. Leaf patterns drawn on one thousand bricks show the leaves of four tree species of the now missing swampland forest. Agency: Ohio Arts Council.
Nogelera En Ehecatlan
Sculpture creates a playground with paving game, walkways, earth forms and play structure at an elementary school in Mesquite, New Mexico. Sculpture subjects: the local pecan industry and the windy weather of the town. Agency: New Mexico Art Council.
Jazz on Camelback
Part of a collaborative design team project with HNTB for the design of a two-mile long strip park and flood control feature in Phoenix, Arizona, 48th Street between McDowell and Indian School. Art features are integral parts of a flood control basin retention wall, six spillways, and a rest area. Four concrete stamps mark numerous places on the central walkway. Sculpture subject: the unfolding views of Camelback Mountain as park patrons walk from south to north. Agency: Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture Project.
